Labs are back.. with an interesting twist...

Platelet count is 31, (I was guessing 30.. so I was close!!) The 'celery' theory seems to be true.... I could tell my count dropped, due to the natural order of things for us women. So I upped my intake of celery ten fold. :) Seemed to help a bit!
So there's that..
Here's the twist:
I also had Dr. Awesome order a metabolic panel, right? Juuuuust to make sure things are in working order and all groovy. HOLY SMOKES I'm glad I did!!! Glucose is 352!!!!! YIKES!! What on earth!??!?! That's screamen high, for those of you just joining the program. (Reference range is 65-99). What does it mean, you ask? I'm not totally sure... I DO know it means I've got a crap ton of sugar floating about in my blood stream..... and maybe this is why I'm having a hard time concentrating these days. Good grief! Time to change some eating habbits. I may not be eating refined sugar.. but I've been eating a lot of dates and honey. Good grief good grief good grief!!!

  1. Remember that pred. causes issues with blood sugar (even long term). Do cut out the extra sweetners (even natural ones) but you will see that come back into balance in a few months as your body heals.

  3. But will pred. cause it to act funky even after it hasn't been? My levels have been fine (even while I was on it)... this is a recent development.

  4. Yeah. It can. Although they say something is "out of the blood" in a certain half life time, it can and does stay in the cells for awhile. At least that's been our experience. The h-pathy will, nonetheless, balance it out eventually.
