Thinking ahead of the game, I didn't eat breakfast this morning. Unfortunately, by the time I saw my GP, I hadn't eaten for 14 hours, and that was too long of a fast (apparently). She said even diabetics would have low blood sugar with that amount of time passed. And indeed mine was lowish(69). So I have to wait until tomorrow to get the labs done. LOTS of labs this time. Last time we ordered labs, she had order a TSH (that's to test thyroid function). The result was in normal range, but just on the outskirts. She didn't mention it, and I didn't think too much of it, cause I was just getting over being sick at the time, and that can always screw with things. However, she thought that it was now something to consider, in light of my high blood sugar and all. So we're not only testing for diabetes, but also thyroid problems.
Labs are: Fasting glucose, HGBA1C (that's for diabetes), TSH, Tree T4, Free T3 (all that is thyroid.. extensive testing)
And of course.. it'll be Friday.. which means results won't come in till Monday (or later?...). She had me set up another appoint THREE WEEKS from now. I'm thinking to myself, "Uhhhh.. that's a long time..... shouldn't we be getting on this ASAP?" But whatever. I have my arsenal of doctors to consult with. And believe you me, as soon as I get my hands on those labs, I will be consulting with all of them.
1 hour past best time! And my cat is cooing at me..wanting to play.
