So my recital is coming together... but really.. I need/want to end it with a chamber orchestra piece. So I started one and brought it to my lesson on Thursday... My teacher liked it, and asked when I was hoping this would be performed... to which I replied, "My recital." :)
He's eyes got slightly larger and said something to the effect of, "The one that's in a few weeks!?"
"Yes.. I can do it..."
"I don't want to sound pessimistic here, but I don't think you can..."
"Oh yes I can.."
"Finish it, get all the players, rehearse, and have it ready for your recital?"
"Yes."
"..That's in a few weeks.."
"Yes."
"I feel a bet coming on!"
So he's betting $10 against me that I can't do it.. And one of the other students in the lesson got in on it.. so that's $20 now. So if I finish this, that's $20 for me.. but if not, I loose $20.
When I told my brother about it, he said I should have bet 2:1, cause the odds are against me. *Shrug* I've never bet before.... kind of new to how it works.
So anyway!!
Here's the start of it. Please forgive the midi playback.. it knows not what it does.
I think it needs more cowbell...
ReplyDeleteIs there going to be a faster contrasting section?
Its still a little early for me to start giving advice since the piece is still quite young.
